Hyperliquid pays funding every hour, and a growing set of products exists to collect it for you. They all run the same core trade: hold the spot asset, short the matching perpetual, and keep the funding that leveraged longs pay. Deploy Finance's Income: Funding Rates agent is one of them.
Because the trade is the same, return source is not what separates these products. Custody does: whose account holds the position, who can move the USDC, and what stands between you and a withdrawal. This page lines up the Hyperliquid funding products on those questions, then shows where Deploy sits.
How Hyperliquid funding-rate products compare
| Product | What you hold | Who controls the account | Exit | Fees |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Deploy Finance (Income: Funding Rates) | USDC and hedged positions in your own wallet | You; the agent has a trade-only session key | Revoke the agent, withdraw to your own address | No subscription or management fee; gas and trade fees |
| Liminal Customized | An isolated strategy account | Liminal (Regular Mode), or your own Hyperliquid sub-account (Self-Custody Mode) | Withdraw anytime; positions unwind | 10% of gross funding profit plus a 1 bp builder fee |
| Liminal xTokens and limUSD | A pooled, transferable token | The pooled vault | Instant redemption at 0.3%, or a queue of up to 3 days | 10% performance fee; xTokens add 1% management |
| Neutral Trade Hyperliquid Funding Arb | Shares of a Solana vault | The vault and its curator | Withdrawal request, then a redemption period | Annual service fee plus commission above a high-water mark |
| BasisYield | Positions in your own Hyperliquid wallet | You; trade-only agent key | Your wallet | About 2 bp builder fee per trade; no management or performance fee |
| Market-neutral Hyperliquid user vaults | A share of a leader's vault | The vault leader | 1-day lock after deposit | Leader keeps 10% of profits |
| HLP (for contrast) | A share of the protocol vault | The protocol | 4-day lock after deposit | No performance fee |
What they have in common
Every product above except HLP holds a long spot leg and a matching perpetual short, so price moves on the two legs cancel. What is left is funding. On Hyperliquid, funding is paid hourly, and it is usually positive because more traders want leveraged longs than shorts. When it turns negative, the short side pays instead, and each product has its own rule for when to cut the position.
So none of these products has a secret source of yield. They differ on four things you can check:
- Account. Your own wallet, a sub-account you own, an account the operator runs, or a pooled vault.
- Exit. A wallet withdrawal, an unwind, a redemption queue, or a lock.
- Fee. A cut of funding, a management fee, a service fee, or none.
- Configuration. Whether you choose the asset and leverage, or the operator does.
The products, one by one
Liminal
Liminal runs the trade in two product lines. Customized gives each user an isolated strategy, with a choice of assets and leverage, in either Regular Mode (Liminal operates the account) or Self-Custody Mode (a trade-only agent on your own Hyperliquid sub-account). Self-Custody Mode needs $100,000 of Hyperliquid trading volume, an agent renewal about every six months, and manual balance transfers after some rebalances. Tokenized pools capital into xHYPE, xBTC, and limUSD, which you can move across chains or use as collateral.
Neutral Trade Hyperliquid Funding Arb
Neutral Trade's vault, live since June 2025, hedges spot against perps on Hyperliquid and puts 10% of its USDC reserves into HLP. You deposit on Solana, receive vault shares, and a vetted curator runs the trade through API access that cannot withdraw. Deposits and withdrawals are batched daily, and exits go through a redemption period.
BasisYield
BasisYield is a router that ranks hedgeable markets every six hours, holds the spot asset, shorts the matching perp, and rotates to whichever market pays best, using a trade-only agent key on your own Hyperliquid wallet. As of October 2026 it had been running in paper validation since July 21, 2026, with a live canary announced as the next step, so it is not yet trading real capital.
Market-neutral user vaults
Some Hyperliquid user vaults run a funding strategy under a named leader. You deposit into the leader's vault, the leader keeps 10% of profits and must hold at least 5% of the vault, and deposits lock for a day. Check the vault's positions, not its name, because nothing forces a "neutral" vault to stay neutral.
HLP, for contrast
HLP is often compared with funding products, but it runs a different business. It makes markets, backstops liquidations, and takes a share of fees, so it holds inventory against traders and is not delta-neutral. Deposits lock for four days.
Where Deploy Finance differs
Deploy runs the same trade from a wallet that belongs to you from the first sign-in. You sign in with email or Google, Deploy creates a self-custodial wallet on Privy's embedded-wallet infrastructure, you fund it with USDC, and you approve a session key for Income: Funding Rates. The key can trade but cannot transfer or withdraw.
The agent holds roughly 75% of capital as the spot asset and uses 25% to back a 3x perpetual short of matching notional. It rebalances automatically, and when funding turns negative it rebalances or closes positions rather than paying to hold.
Set against the rest of the niche:
- Against Liminal Self-Custody: the same trade-only model, without the $100,000 volume prerequisite, the six-month renewal, or manual balance transfers.
- Against pooled products (xTokens, Neutral Trade, user vaults): no vault share, no redemption period, and no other depositor's exit affecting yours.
- Against fee models: no cut of funding, no service fee, and no management fee.
Deploy also offers a second agent from the same wallet. Superstar takes long or short positions under a defined strategy, which none of the funding products above provide.
When one of them fits better
- Liminal if you want to choose the asset and leverage, or want a token (xHYPE, limUSD) to use as collateral or bridge.
- Neutral Trade if you want one deposit spread across strategies through Autopilot, or you prefer a vetted trading firm running the book.
- BasisYield if you want a router rotating among hedgeable markets, including tokenized gold, once it trades real capital.
- A user vault if you have researched a specific leader and accept the lock and profit share.
- HLP if you want to be the venue's liquidity provider rather than collect funding.
