Deploy Finance, a self-custodial alternative to Coinrule and Cryptohopper

Disclosure: Deploy Finance publishes this page and offers a competing product that appears in it.

Not financial advice. Crypto, DeFi and perpetual-futures strategies can lose money, including your whole deposit. Yields are variable, and past or backtested results do not predict future returns. Read the risk disclosure.

Coinrule, Cryptohopper, and Deploy Finance all trade crypto for you while you are away from the screen. Coinrule and Cryptohopper are software: you write rules, pick templates, or buy strategies, then connect the bot to your exchange account or wallet. Deploy Finance is not a bot builder. It offers two agents whose strategy is already defined, and you choose which one to fund.

The closest overlap is Coinrule on Hyperliquid against Deploy's Superstar. Both trade Hyperliquid perpetuals from a wallet you own, and neither can withdraw your funds. The asymmetry is who writes the strategy. On Coinrule you write the rules. On Deploy, Deploy defines the strategy and the agent runs it.

What is Coinrule?

Coinrule is a no-code automation platform built around if-this-then-that rules. You set a condition, such as an indicator crossing, a price change, or a time trigger, and an action, and the rule places orders when the condition hits. Coinrule offers more than 350 templates, a backtesting engine, TradingView integration, and an AI assistant. A Coinrule MCP server lets ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok draft strategies in natural language.

It connects to more than 25 crypto exchanges, stock brokers such as Alpaca and Webull, and onchain trading on Base, Arbitrum, and BSC. Coinrule states it is non-custodial and uses API connections with no withdrawal permissions.

Coinrule on Hyperliquid

Coinrule's Hyperliquid guide has you connect your main EVM wallet, not a Hyperliquid API wallet. You then sign two transactions, one granting Coinrule trading permissions and one approving builder fees. Coinrule cannot withdraw. You deposit USDC and launch as many rules as you like on that wallet.

There is a free Starter plan with demo trading and limited rules. Coinrule's homepage lists paid plans from $29.99 a month, rising to $59.99 for Trader and $449.99 for Pro. Rule, exchange, and volume limits for each tier are on its pricing page.

What is Cryptohopper?

Cryptohopper is a cloud-hosted trading bot. You connect a centralized exchange account through API keys or OAuth, and the bot places orders there using take-profit, trailing stop-loss, DCA, shorting, and TradingView alerts. Paper trading lets you test before going live. Its support documentation states that Cryptohopper does not hold your funds.

The marketplace sells strategies, bot templates, and signals from other users. Cryptohopper's pricing page lists three plans: Explorer at $29 a month, Adventurer at $69, and Hero at $129. Marketplace and social trading start at Adventurer. AI strategies, market making, and exchange arbitrage need Hero. Copy bots carry a separate subscription of $9.99 to $99.99 a month. A 3-day Explorer trial replaces a free plan.

Deploy Finance: no rules to write

Deploy Finance runs two live agents, both funded and settled in USDC, both trading on Hyperliquid.

  • Income: Funding Rates holds the spot asset against a matching perpetual short and collects funding in USDC. It rebalances automatically and closes positions rather than paying when funding turns negative.
  • Superstar takes long or short positions on perpetual markets under a strategy Deploy defines and manages.

You sign in with email or Google, which creates a self-custodial wallet on Privy's embedded-wallet infrastructure. You fund it with USDC, choose an agent and allocation, and approve a session key. From then on the agent decides entries, exits, hedges, and position size, and you do not set indicators, thresholds, or schedules. The key can trade but cannot transfer or withdraw, and you can revoke it at any time.

The trade-off is control. Coinrule and Cryptohopper let you trade any pair on dozens of venues with any logic you can express. Deploy gives you two strategies on one venue. In return there is no strategy to design, no backtest to interpret, no subscription, and no rules to fix when the market changes.

When should you choose Deploy Finance, Coinrule, or Cryptohopper?

Choose Deploy Finance when:

  • You want automated trading without writing rules, choosing indicators, or buying signals.
  • You want a market-neutral funding strategy, which neither bot platform offers as a packaged product.
  • You want no monthly subscription.
  • You want your funds in your own wallet rather than on an exchange account.

Choose Coinrule when:

  • You have your own trading logic and want to automate it without code.
  • You want one tool across many exchanges, stock brokers, and chains.
  • You want to backtest a rule before risking capital.
  • You want to keep Hyperliquid trading in your own wallet but control every rule.

Choose Cryptohopper when:

  • You trade on centralized exchanges and want a cloud bot that runs continuously.
  • You want to buy strategies or signals from other traders through a marketplace.
  • You want market-making or exchange-arbitrage tools and accept the Hero plan cost.

Toolkit or mandate: Coinrule and Cryptohopper give you the tools to run your own strategy. Deploy Finance gives you a defined strategy to fund. No integration between the products is implied.
