Deploy Finance, a self-custodial alternative to Kraken Earn

Disclosure: Deploy Finance publishes this page and offers a competing product that appears in it.

Not financial advice. Crypto, DeFi and perpetual-futures strategies can lose money, including your whole deposit. Yields are variable, and past or backtested results do not predict future returns. Read the risk disclosure.

Kraken and Deploy Finance both pay you on USDC you are not trading. Kraken does it inside your exchange account: switch on Auto Earn and eligible balances flow into its staking, opt-in, and stablecoin rewards programs. Deploy Finance does it from a wallet you own, where an agent trades a funding-rate strategy for you.

The overlap is a USDC balance that earns while it sits. The asymmetry is custody and source. Kraken holds the USDC and pays a rewards rate it sets and funds. Deploy leaves the USDC in your wallet and earns whatever funding leveraged traders pay on Hyperliquid.

What is Kraken Earn?

Kraken's Auto Earn bundles three programs. Staking pays protocol rewards on proof-of-stake assets, and Kraken keeps a 30% commission on them. Opt-in rewards pay on other eligible balances. Stablecoin rewards pay on USDC held in your account. Once you turn Auto Earn on and pick the programs, eligible assets join them automatically.

How USDC rewards work on Kraken

  • Rewards accrue daily and pay out weekly into your balance.
  • There is no lock-up. USDC stays fully tradable and withdrawable.
  • The rate is variable. Kraken+ subscribers get a higher rate than other customers.
  • Kraken describes the program as a loyalty initiative it funds itself, rather than lending out your USDC.
  • Stablecoin rewards were available in the US, Canada, Australia, and the UK when checked in October 2026, and require a verified account.

This is a simple deal. You keep your USDC where you already trade, it earns without any action, and you can spend it anytime. What you give up is control: the rate is Kraken's decision, the program can change, and the USDC is a claim on Kraken.

Deploy Finance: the same USDC, in your own wallet

Deploy Finance runs two live agents, both funded and settled in USDC.

  • Income: Funding Rates holds roughly 75% of capital as the spot asset and uses 25% to back a 3x perpetual short of matching notional on Hyperliquid. It collects the funding leveraged longs pay every hour and rebalances automatically. When funding turns negative, it rebalances or closes positions rather than paying to hold.
  • Superstar takes long or short positions on perpetual markets under a defined strategy.

You sign in with email or Google, and Deploy creates a self-custodial wallet on Privy's embedded-wallet infrastructure, with keys you can export. You withdraw USDC from Kraken to that wallet, choose an agent and allocation, and approve a session key. The key can trade but cannot transfer or withdraw, and you can revoke it at any time.

The difference is not just custody. Kraken's USDC rate is set by Kraken and does not depend on any market you can watch. Funding is set by the market: it rises when traders want leverage, falls when they do not, and is visible on Hyperliquid every hour.

When should you choose Deploy Finance or Kraken Earn?

Choose Deploy Finance when:

  • You want your USDC in a wallet you own rather than an exchange account.
  • You want the return to come from a market you can observe, not an exchange's loyalty program.
  • You do not want a paid subscription to reach a better rate.
  • You want a directional agent available from the same wallet.

Choose Kraken Earn when:

  • You already trade on Kraken and want idle USDC to earn without moving it.
  • You want staking rewards on proof-of-stake assets you hold there.
  • You want USDC that stays instantly tradable on the exchange while it earns.
  • You live in a region where Kraken's stablecoin rewards are available and you accept its terms.

Different custody models: Kraken pays rewards on assets it holds for you. Deploy Finance runs an agent inside a wallet you hold. No integration between the products is implied.
